Powerful and memorable Sauvignon Blancs are amongst the best known products from New Zealand.  Marlborough is one of the most popular/well known regions for New Zealand Sauvignon Blancs, and grapes have only been grown in this south island region for around 35 years, which is incredible given the quality of much of this wine.  The widely known Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc is produced in Marlborough.

Kiwi white wine is by no means limited to Sauvignon Blanc though, with award winning Chardonnay and Rieslings also being widely available.

As with all New Zealand white wines, be prepared to pay a little more per bottle due to the limited production, however once you find a white wine you like, it’s easy to justify the little bit extra!  It’s also easier to tip the balance by buying this wine on a sale or return basis.
