Rose wine comes originally from France, and comes in a pink to light purple color. The color can vary depending on the type of wine technique that is being used. The Rose wine is made by red grapes being crushed while keeping the skin in contact with the juice for a couple days. After the couple days, the skin is then discarded giving it the pink color that it has. The longer the skin is on during fermentation, the darker the wine appears.

Recently, in the last couple years California crops are making mass quanties of Rose wine over other wine’s because of its popularity. It has become so popular for it’s different fruity taste, and it goes along with many meal choices. Some of the popular Rose wines are Vendage White Zinfandel, and the Fetzer Valley Oaks Syrah Rose. The Vendage White Zinfandel is a medium sweet wine made in California. THe Fetzer Vally Oaks wine is also made in California, but is a bit more dry. This wine won an award for “International Wine Challenge Rose Wine of the Year.” Both of these wines cost about £10 a bottle.
