Rose(rosada) Wine from Spain is a unique wine made from the Grenache, Monastrelli and Tempraniil grape, to name a few. In the making of Rose Wine it begins with the same process as a White Wine; that of crushing and pumping. Only the first must is used. As it flows it picks up the characteristics of the Red Wine. This gives the Rose Wine of Spain its light pink color. Rose Wine only has contact with the skin of the grape for 12-16 days, making it a “young” wine. The process is stopped before fermentation begins.
Rose Wines from Spain have been a favorite among many people, including the famous Ernest Hemingway. Tenaha Rose(11.99 GBP) from the Tierrada Castilla region of Spain has a bright strawberry and cherry flavor with a hint of citrus. Brut Rose(8.50 GBP) has a nice blend of plum and raspberry, accented by an earthy spice flavor. The texture is said to be more than solid. La Poda Tempranillo/Shiraz Rose(9.99 GBP) is a dry wine with bright flavors of strawberry and red jam. It has a full rich flavor.
